Similarities and Differences between the films

Similarities of the two films:

.Both films are centred around a group of teenagers

. A comon factor within both films that the two teenagers that have sex at the beginning of the film are the first people to die.

. Final girl at the end of both films

. The group pick up hitchhikers from the road.

.The way in which leatherface kills the teenagers are similar. However throughout the 2003 versoin its different due to the fact that there is more technology.

Differences between both films:

. The hithhiker that the teenagers pick up in the 2003 version is a women compared to the original, who is a man and also a member of the family

. Leatherface gets his arm chopped off.

. In the new film we are introduced to a number of different family members. This includes the little boy who helps the girl escape from leatherface at the end.

. The location in which the teenagers are going to are different.

. At the end of the film the girl kills one of the family members and takes a baby with her, which the women had taken from the girl that killed herself.

. More technology is used in the 2003 version. With emphasis on the the scene when the girl shoots herself in the bus. The camera goes through the hole in her head.
