Halloween UK:
If I was going to do a re- make of the halloween film I would keep most of the aspects of the film the same. This would be important to do as I would not want to lose the originality of the film which was made in 1978. Throughout the film music is used to create tension by getting louder, whenevr the killer was near or had appeared. The film created a sense which made it slighty repetitive and annoying to the audience.
If there was one thing to chance I would make the killing scenes faster. As the film would be targeted at a new generation of audience, particulary teenagers who may not have seen the oringinal film, the expectations of the audience would be more demanding, and I believe that they would want to see more and quicker deaths.
I would try and make the audience want to quetsion the film by making some of the aspects of the film more misleading to the audience watching. To make this possible at the end of the film, possibly the audience are not intoducedto the killer, or it is someone who as the charcteristics which makes the audience question his or her motive to want to kill people.
What is good about the original halloween, which I believe would be good to apply to the re make is of the camera angles which are used. Often within horror films and shown in the original halloween, the audience a put into a position in which they are forced to be in the eyes of the killer. This is a good way of creating suspence for the audience as they are unaware of who the killer might be.
For a possible storyline for the new halloween film, the main female protagonist could be the daughter of the killer, however her mum did not make her aware of who she is related to. News breaks out that her friends and people living in the area are being killed. At the end the audience are suprised by who the killer is as the killer is actually the girl.
